The Swan Inn - Home | bookmark this site

This family run establishment is the very definition of of a traditional Welsh Inn, steeped with history, boasting character and a warm friendly family environment.

This Thirteenth century building has been a pub for all 800 years of it's existence and is as steeped in history as the village in which it is situated. Pontfadog is one of the several small villages in the Ceiriog Valley. Once described by Lloyd George as 'a little piece of heaven on earth'. You need only to step outside the front door to understand the sentiment.

The River Ceiriog (the fastest flowing river in Wales), is a short stones throw away and you can't help but fall in love with the idyllic nature of the valley wether you choose to explore the picturesque countryside, fish in the river, enjoy a wide range of local attractions/activities or simply relax with a drink and enjoy the scenery.

One of the oldest buildings in the valley. The Swan recently underwent re-furbishment yet care was taken to remain sympathetic to the original fittings and fixtures, many of which are visable throughout the building. With a restaurant boasting a plethora of local produce, rooms with views of the River Ceiriog and even the pubs own real ale 'Swan for the Road' (produced by a local brewery), The Swan is a true slice of Wales waiting to be discovered and savoured.
